Choosing A Door
Before you select a door for your fireplace you’ll need to know what type of fireplace you have. There are two types of wood burning fireplaces: Masonry and Zero Clearance.
Masonry Fireplaces
are either constructed of brick or stone and a door can be made to
overlap the fireplace opening or fit inside which is common on stone
fireplaces. Installing a door on a masonry fireplace will increase the energy efficiency of our fireplace.
Zero Clearance
(also called ZC fireplaces) are factory built, metal fireplace boxes.
All Zero Clearance or ZC doors must be designed to allow air flow the
way the firebox manufacturer intended. Gaps between the glass and frame
vents exist on ZC doors to allow for this essential airflow. All
fireplace "Z" doors offered by Diamond W are designed to allow for this
airflow.
What style of working doors do you want: Bifold (4) panel
or Twin (2) panel? A bi-fold door opens and folds in half taking up
less space on the front of your fireplace making more room for your tool
set or other accessories.
A Twin door is just a different word for a double door. Twin doors take up more room when they swing open.
Within the Bi-fold and Twin category
you can choose one of the following: Full View Bi-fold, Semi Full View
Bi-fold, Twin and Full View Twin. Diamond W's trackless system allows for doors to open and swing freely to 180º.
For added safety, all of our custom doors come standard with inner Mesh Doors and Tempered Glass.
Always consider your home
décor. Choosing a glass door for your fireplace is like buying a piece
of furniture, your fireplace is the focal point of your home, and with
the options we have to offer, you can create a door that
compliments your home.
